The first step to activating Windows 10 is to check your activation status. This means that you have to confirm that your computer is linked to your Microsoft account and that it is activated. The importance of this is so that you’d be getting fast troubleshooting if you run into issues down the line.

Linking the Microsoft account to your Windows 10 license allows you to reactivate the Windows 10 using the feature called “Activation Troubleshooter”, even if your computer starts asking you for activation later on, at no extra cost. 

To check if your Windows 10 is already activated, follow the steps below;

  • Click on the Start button
  • Click on Settings
  • Click on Update & Security
  • And lastly, click on Activation.

You will get a response like “Windows is activated”, “Windows is activated with a digital license linked to your Microsoft account”, “Windows is activated with a digital license” or “Windows is not activated”.
